Embrace Living Communities has an opening for a Staff Accountant at 1900 Spring Rd, Ste 450, Oak Brook, IL 60523. The Staff Accountant is responsible for handling and supporting the accounting department with day-to-day accounting activities. Supports the Embrace Living Communities wellness culture that encourages active aging and “living well.” Duties and Responsibilities

Creates a respectful living environment for seniors and physically challenged individuals that is aligned with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Works collaboratively with assigned housing community employees to promote harmonious relationships among residents, employees, families and partners. Accounts payable support: Assist with invoice processing, vendor payments, and client billing to ensure timely and accurate transactions. Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records; reconcile accounts payable transaction. Post month/year end transactions and reconcile general ledger accounts. Prepare and maintain monthly cash ledgers and reports and reconcile all bank accounts. Account reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts to maintain data integrity. General ledger maintenance: Record and reconcile financial transactions in the general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting. Month‑end and year‑end close: Assist with closing procedures, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. File compliance reports with government agencies. Provide support for audits. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Education and/or Experience – Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required. 0 to 3 years of prior accounting experience or related field required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret typical scientific and technical documents, including general accounts and financial reports. Ability to respond to inquiries and interpret information, combining sound judgment and flexibility. Technical Skills – Proficiency with accounting software, including Acumatica, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant tools. Familiarity with Office 365 is preferred. Analytical Thinking – synthesizes complex information from several sources and can create innovative strategies for complex problems. Anticipation Management – Ability to manage priorities, allocate resources, and ensure consistent execution of goals. Complex Problem Solving – Ability to develop solutions for problems that arise by understanding root causes, assessing business impacts, and recommending strategic action. Critical Thinking – Exercising decisiveness and sound judgment with a reasonable sense of priorities and adjusts to escalating situations. Mathematics – Solid knowledge of basic math and business calculation limited to required accuracy. Time Management – Highly detail‑oriented, can objectively schedule tasks and meet deadlines. While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to remain in a stationary position for approximately 90 percent of the time while operating a computer and performing other office tasks. The individual may occasionally need to move about the office and lift 15 to 25 pounds. Work Environment

The work environment is a controlled climate office setting. The employee may encounter waste materials and high humidity and occasional noise, but overall noise levels are quiet.
