Psychiatrist (Children & Youth) – New York City Children’s Psychiatric Center (NY HELPS) Pay range: $249,176–$285,735 per year (based on skills and experience). Additional downstate adjustment $4,000 available.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and patient admissions.

Create treatment plans, including medication management.

Order and review laboratory tests; consult with team members.

Supervise Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellows from NYU.

Attend NYU Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Grand Rounds.

Minimum Qualifications

License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State.

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (ABPN).

For Psychiatrist 2: Board Certified in General Psychiatry (ABPN).

For Psychiatrist 1: Board Eligible in General Psychiatry (ABPN).

Limited permit: If licensed in another state or Canada, a current limited permit to practice in NY is required; must obtain full license within one year of appointment.

One year of permanent service as a Psychiatrist 1 or Psychiatrist 2 (or equivalent) required for lateral transfer eligibility.
