The Department of Neurology at the University of California, Davis is recruiting a Headache Medicine Neurologist for a full‑time faculty position.
The position is open at the Assistant or Associate Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) or the Clinical Neurology series. The academic rank will correspond to the applicant’s experience and qualifications.
Faculty members provide primarily outpatient and minimal inpatient clinical care; teach medical students, residents, and fellows; and provide university/public service. Most clinical responsibilities will focus on neurologic headache and facial pain in the outpatient clinic, with the remaining effort on general neurology inpatient attending service.
The outpatient clinic has excellent nursing, staff, and neuro‑specialty pharmacological support. The Headache Clinic has become a busy clinical operation of excellence with all modalities of therapy. Close relationships with Neurological Surgery and Pain Medicine provide opportunities for collaborative translational research. UC Davis Neurology is nationally ranked in U.S. News & World Report. UC Davis Health serves the largest catchment area among academic medical centers in California.
Basic Qualifications
MD or DO degree.
Board‑certified in Neurology by the ABPN.
Board‑certified or eligible in Headache Medicine through the UCNS.
Eligible for California medical license.
Additional Qualifications For the Clinical Neurology series: ability and experience to conduct scholarly/clinical/translational research and a record of publications in peer‑reviewed journals. Evidence of success in obtaining extramural funding and/or administering clinical trials.
