Our client is seeking a
High Performance Computing (HPC) Software Engineer
to join a team dedicated to solving the most complex mission‑critical challenges in support of U.S. Government operations. In this role, you’ll be immersed in a dynamic environment focused on innovation, performance optimization, and secure software engineering across advanced HPC systems.
What You’ll Be Doing As an HPC Software Engineer, you will:
Collaborate with HPC SMEs, mission stakeholders, and developers to analyze computational needs
Perform
characterization and performance tuning
of software solutions across various HPC node types
Optimize code for
parallel execution and scalability
across clusters
Use
parallel computing frameworks
(e.g., OpenMP, MPI) to enhance software performance
Benchmark HPC systems and conduct
deep performance analysis
Document system architectures, implementations, and performance results
Troubleshoot and debug complex issues affecting compute, memory, storage, and network performance
Work with mission‑critical systems, including:
Real‑time applications
Massive‑scale data processing
Containerized environments
Data transport and application monitoring platforms
Required Skills
Strong experience using the
Linux CLI
Scripting experience with
Bash
and
Python
for automation
Solid knowledge of HPC architectures: compute, memory, network, and storage components
Proficiency in software development using
C, C++, Java, or Python
Expertise with
HPC parallel computing frameworks
such as:
OpenSHMEM
pthreads
OpenMP
MPI
UPC
Experience with:
Code optimization (parallelization, vectorization, tuning)
Performance benchmarking and profiling
Debugging and resolving HPC application issues
Documenting design and performance analysis
Desired Skills
Experience with
Git
for version control
Familiarity with
Atlassian tools
(JIRA, Confluence)
Qualifications
7+ years
of experience in HPC software engineering or a related technical role
Bachelor’s degree
in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
Compensation
