We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Radiation Therapist to join our oncology team. The Radiation Therapist will be responsible for delivering safe and effective radiation treatments to cancer patients as prescribed by radiation oncologists. This role requires strong technical proficiency, emotional sensitivity, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
Administer individualized radiation therapy treatments in accordance with the patient’s treatment plan
Explain treatment procedures to patients and answer their questions with empathy and clarity
Utilize medical imaging and positioning equipment to ensure precise delivery of radiation
Monitor and assess patients’ physical and emotional responses to treatments, reporting any concerns to the oncology team
Educate patients on potential side effects and provide advice on symptom management
Collaborate with oncologists and dosimetrists to adjust treatment plans as necessary
Provide ongoing emotional support to patients and their families throughout the treatment process
Perform quality assurance tests on simulation and treatment machines to ensure operational accuracy and safety
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy or a related field
Previous clinical experience as a Radiation Therapist
Proficiency in operating medical imaging and treatment equipment
Strong technical and critical thinking skillsExceptional hand-eye coordination and physical precision
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to remain professional and empathetic in emotionally sensitive situations
High level of attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a hospital-based radiation oncology department
Familiarity with treatment planning systems and electronic medical records (EMR) platforms
Certifications
ARRT Certification in Radiation Therapy – Required
BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification – Required
