Rutgers‑Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) and Rutgers‑Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ are seeking a full‑time cardiac surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The successful candidate will join a team of 5 cardiac surgeons and 30+ advanced practice providers, contributing to a program that performs approximately 1800 cardiac procedures annually.

Responsibilities This new team member will have expertise in a specific area of cardiac surgery practice such as transplantation/heart failure, robotics, atrial fibrillation, or complex aortic surgery. While the appointee will perform the full spectrum of cardiac surgery, success will be measured by the ability to collaborate with other providers and staff to further develop and grow their focused program. Additionally, the surgeon will contribute to the education and training of residents and medical students. Academic rank and funding will depend on scholarly activity.
Candidates must hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the state of New Jersey; have completed an accredited fellowship or equivalent training in cardiothoracic surgery; and be board‑certified or eligible by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery or equivalent.
The successful candidate will be exclusively based at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH), the primary teaching hospital for Rutgers‑RWJMS.
