Med/Surg RN Job Details
Location:
Battle Creek, Michigan 49017
Assignment Length:
13-week travel contract (Start: 12/15/2025 – End: 3/16/2026)
Shift:
Night shifts, 12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule:
Choose between 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts per week
Healthcare Setting:
General Medical – C3 Unit (Med/Surg)
Weekend Requirement:
Every other weekend
Floating:
Float to other Med/Surg units as needed (typically once per week)
Staffing Ratio:
1:5-6 for nights; may flex to 1:8 with LPN support
Orientation:
Must be available for full orientation week (includes 8 hours of modules)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Michigan RN license (required for Michigan healthcare jobs)
BLS certification (AHA; pending accepted, must obtain prior to start)
Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience (2 years preferred)
Ability to float to other Med/Surg units as needed
Strong teamwork skills with RNs, LPNs, and clinical techs
Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions accepted with documentation)
Professional references required
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to medical and surgical patients, including ortho/neurovascular, cardio/pulmonary, GI, urology, and post-surgical cases
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
Float to other Med/Surg units based on staffing needs
Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation
Complete orientation and required training modules
Work every other weekend and follow holiday scheduling guidelines
