This position is located within the Financial Management Section of the Department of Military Affairs (DMA). It is responsible for delivering a range of accounting services, with a primary focus on managing and reporting the department’s accounts receivable, accounts payable, and procurement activities.
The role requires working in compliance with state and federal laws, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and within the policies and procedures established by the Department of Administration (ADMIN), MNIT Services, and the Department of Management and Budget (MMB).
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework arrangement, allowing up to 50% of scheduled workdays to be completed remotely.
Minimum Qualifications At least two (2) years of accounts receivable or grants management experience using Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT), or at least four (4) years of accounts receivable experience using other large enterprise-level accounting systems.
Knowledge of general budget terminology and principles sufficient to assist in preparing and reviewing budgets
Ability to interpret and analyze complex fiscal reports
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word
Strong organizational skills with the ability to determine priorities and manage multiple responsibilities effectively
Ability to work independently while recognizing when issues require management consultation
Must pass a background investigation and obtain an agency provided Common Access Card (CAC).
Preferred Qualifications At least four (4) years of experience using SWIFT’s Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), and Grant Management modules
Demonstrated analytical skills in researching and interpreting policies, rules, and procedures related to fiscal operations
Experience in account reconciliation
Certified state purchasing agent with Authority for Local Purchase (ALP) certification, authorized to conduct local purchasing up to $25,000
