Description The Drafter will be responsible for creating, completing, and maintaining 3D models, detailed assembly and part drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM) in support of engineering, manufacturing and estimation activities throughout various project stages.
Primary Responsibilities
Work with Engineering to develop 3D CAD based models of components and assemblies in support of quoting and production activities.
Create Engineering drawing packages for projects to support production activities on the floor.
Edit and maintain Engineering models and drawing packages throughout project lifecycle ensuring proper revision control.
Work with Engineering to update and maintain drawing BOMs and material BOMs in Apogee.
Accurately produce simple to complex models, illustrations and drawings in accordance with company standards from data, sketches, or verbal communication.
Store and retrieve technical documents within Autodesk Vault.
Manage the drawing approval and lifecycle process using Autodesk Vault.
Maintain CAD symbol libraries in Vault, including creation and maintenance of part symbols, part models, and sub-assemblies in CAD, ensuring proper naming conventions and attribute population.
Create bills of material consisting of fittings, hardware and custom brackets.
Follow and enforce drawing standards and modeling best practices.
Effectively manage multiple design projects concurrently.
Support manufacturing activities as required.
Maintain high quality standards and provide accurate data entry.
Skills & Competencies
A keen attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Ability to work independently and manage work schedule and multiple tasks.
Excellent graphical, written and verbal communication skills.
Committed team player with a caring attitude.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio.
Proficient in Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault and AutoCAD 2020 or newer.
Working knowledge of industry drafting and design standards.
Ability to read and understand mechanical CAD drawings and BOMs.
Ability to read and understand hydraulic schematic drawings and BOMs.
Ability to utilize Autodesk Inventor routed systems: Tubing, Piping and Hose.
Ability to utilize Autodesk Inventor frame generator.
Ability to use Autodesk Inventor sheet metal.
Prior experience in manufacturing, fabrication, machine design and system layouts.
Ability to utilize engineering tools for sizing fluid conduits for pressure and flow.
Knowledge of hydraulic fittings, selection and application.
Maintain professional working relations with associates, vendors, and customers.
Knowledge of CNC programming/process a plus.
Knowledge and use of FEA analysis tools within Autodesk Inventor a plus.
Requirements
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school.
3‑5 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3D CAD focus preferably Autodesk Inventor 2016 or later.
Pay and Benefits Salary: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year.
