Data Center Fiber Technician - Required Travel To TX

TEKsystems is seeking Data Center Fiber Technicians for our client in Texas.
Per Diem: $150/day plus travel costs to Texas are covered.
Shift: 7am‑7pm or 7pm‑7am, 3 weeks on / 1 week off or 6 days on / 2 days off.
Skills Required
Previous Data Center experience preferred.
1‑5+ years of experience splicing ribbon fiber.
Job Description Level II
Performs mid‑level splicing functions for aerial, underground, and ISP cable routing on various projects.
Advanced ability to read and interpret construction prints, drawings, and splice matrices to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled.
Determines equipment needs, cable route, cable direction and safety best practices, and performs splicing functions within a live customer facility.
Independently and safely performs mid‑sheath cable entry using proper tools.
Performs mid‑level single and/or ribbon splices with understanding of large cable count numbering.
Reads and processes test results and troubleshoots basic issues during testing.
Proficient in mid‑level OTDR and power meter testing.
Installs and/or researches installation procedures for all splice enclosures.
Performs basic cable relocations and hot cuts while maintaining cable organization.
Effectively communicates with internal peers and external stakeholders, addressing issues and providing customer‑centric solutions.
Responds timely to critical situations and emergency outages with appropriate level of urgency.
Maintains full understanding of safety risks while working in a safety‑sensitive position, adhering to all safety requirements and standards.
Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
Level III
Performs complex splicing projects for both new and existing customers with little to no direction.
Independently troubleshoots customer networks and interprets test results to provide deliverables.
Creates Smart Sheets and Excel trackers to accurately track project schedules and progress.
Independently reads and interprets prints and creates work assignments for other technicians.
Accurately collects all pertinent information from pre‑job inspections and customer field meetings.
Supports operational leadership with on‑site project management (time, materials, documentation, production updates, tools, equipment).
Professionally interacts with and communicates with external vendors, customers, subcontractors, and internal leadership to ensure accurate information is disseminated.
Proactively identifies and escalates project and personnel issues to operational leadership when appropriate.
Creates training plans, conducts training for other technicians and serves as a leader in the field, driving quality, efficiency, production, and safety.
Serves as an ADB Culture Champion, leading, driving, and participating in ADB culture pillar events.
Utilizes expert‑level splicing skills to identify, recommend, and implement process improvements across ADB’s Splicing group.
Possesses advanced understanding of all safety risks while working in a safety‑sensitive position, adhering to all safety requirements and standards.
Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $40.00/hr.
