Finance Coordinator UCLA Meyer and Renee Luskin Department of History is a large and dynamic department housing graduate and undergraduate programs, and a robust academic roster that includes approximately 55 faculty, many active emeriti, 10 lecturers, 6 post‑docs, 14 staff members and visitors.

The department also operates the Public History Initiative and the Luskin Center for History and Policy.

Position Summary Under the supervision of the

Senior Fund Manager , the Finance Coordinator provides accurate and timely financial services for faculty, active emeriti, students, guests, and staff.

The role involves high‑volume request processing, communication, and tracking, and liaison with Business and Finance Solutions (Accounts Payable, Travel Accounting, Purchasing, Vendor Management, Central Resource Unit, etc.) to complete tasks and projects.

Primary responsibilities include processing BruinBuy Plus requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, procurement and vendor setup via PaymentWorks; handling Concur travel and entertainment reimbursements and PCard reporting; and working with CASHNet.

The Finance Coordinator also serves as a departmental advisor on financial policies and procedures, attends account office hours, stays current on university protocols, and may oversee departmental colloquia and events as needed.

Salary & Compensation UCLA provides a full pay range.

Actual salary offers consider factors such as budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.

Salary offers at the top of the range are uncommon.

Qualifications

Knowledge and experience with UCLA financial and payroll systems including BruinBuy Plus, Concur, OASIS, and FSR (Preferred)

Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with UCLA Accounting policies and procedures (Preferred)

Demonstrated skill in financial analysis and long‑term and short‑term budget planning (Preferred)

Demonstrated knowledge of UCLA gift processing and procedures (Preferred)

Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and reconcile monthly ledgers (Preferred)

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access (Required)

Strong attention to detail, organization, tracking, and review of assignments, projects, and tasks (Required)

Demonstrated written communication skills for concise, logical, grammatically correct reports, correspondence, policies, and procedures (Required)

Demonstrated oral communication skills to explain policies and procedures to faculty, staff, students, and administrative personnel (Required)

Skill in negotiating and exchanging ideas with others to formulate departmental policies and reach collective decisions (Required)

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet competing deadlines despite frequent interruptions (Required)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience or training (Required)
