University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College at North Little Rock is an integral part of the Arkansas Technical and Community College System maintained by the State of Arkansas. The college is governed by the University of Arkansas System Board of Trustees and a seven-member Board of Visitors and derives its support largely from student tuition and fees and legislative appropriations. UA - Pulaski Tech, a comprehensive two-year college, offers associate degree and certificate programs for students who plan to transfer to four-year colleges and universities and/or for career preparation and advancement.

Summary of Job Duties The BUS/IT department at UAPTC is seeking to compile a pool of qualified candidates interested in future part-time teaching opportunities in programming, networking, cybersecurity, or data science. The position may require possible on-campus teaching responsibilities at multiple campuses and may include live streaming, webinar, and online courses. Candidates must possess a thorough knowledge of the teaching field, a commitment to high academic standards, a dedication to student success, and excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

General Responsibilities

Teaching at the undergraduate level per semester.

Development of course materials, assignments and assessment of student learning outcomes within the structure of the course.

Management of blackboard LMS and online learning environments.

Management of accurate student records and timely submission of syllabi, roster certifications, and grades.

Commitment to follow institutional and department policies regarding all course and college procedures.

Establish and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with students, colleagues and staff, including timely communication replies.

Use contemporary educational techniques and technologies.

Qualifications Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in computer science, CIS, MIS, or other related field or a graduate degree with 18 graduate hours in programming, networking, cybersecurity, or data science discipline is required. Proper industry certifications in various programming languages, CISCO, CompTIA, etc. plus a Bachelor’s degree in the field with corresponding industry experience may be substituted for a Master’s degree depending on discipline and course.

Thorough knowledge of programming, networking, cybersecurity, or data science field, a commitment to high academic standards, a dedication to student success, and excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Focus on teaching and student learning, participate in assessment, and assist with curriculum development when needed.

Competence and experience to develop, revise, implement and assess curriculum to ensure that students are acquiring necessary skills, including familiarity with technology used in classroom settings.

Availability to teach day, evening and online classes.

Preferred Qualifications:

College teaching experience with community college experience with a diverse student body is preferred.

Additional Information Salary:

$675 per credit hour
