Tradition Hospital’s 6th Floor Telemetry/Neurology Unit provides exceptional care and monitoring of patients with neurological needs. Telemetry caregivers may clean and shave a patient’s skin to place electrodes, replace electrodes daily, change batteries in a telemetry device, help someone when their monitor’s alarm sounds and explain telemetry to patients. By joining this team as a Clinical Technician, you will support your fellow caregivers and medical staff by providing patients with top-quality care. Shift schedule A caregiver in this position works nights from 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM.

Role responsibilities

Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.

Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.

Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.

Complete an internal training program within two weeks of start date.

Minimum qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Nursing students: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross prior to hire

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross – If you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it during your new hire period.

Preferred qualifications

One year of recent, full‑time patient care experience OR nursing student who has completed at least one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1).

Physical requirements

Full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity and good eye‑hand coordination

Extensive standing and walking

Medium Work, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force rarely and/or 0 to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects

Physical Demand requirements in excess of those for Medium Work

Personal Protective Equipment

Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
