Job Description
Sunshine Staffing is currently seeking an Inmate Supervisor to supervise inmates working on roadways and highways.
This position manages highway maintenance activities at a regional maintenance facility located in Chiefland, Florida. This position requires the applicant to have the training, skills, and ability to supervise work release inmates.
Responsibilities Duties may include, but are not limited to the following :
Employees in this position will supervise inmates working on the State Highway system.
Operate various heavy equipment associated with State Highway department operations
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Successful candidate shall have experience as a State certified Correctional Officer.
Must be certified as a Correctional Officer in Florida with an active certification in good standing.
Ability to obtain an Advanced Level Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification.
Must satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug test and physical examination.
Must satisfactorily pass a background investigation and fingerprinting, which includes no felony convictions; no misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement; no misdemeanor conviction of domestic violence.
Must demonstrate good moral character as determined by a thorough background investigation.
Ability to communicate via cellular phone while supervising work release inmates.
Schedule : Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm.
