The Medical College of Georgia, Immunology Center of Georgia at Augusta University is looking for a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor to serve as an established immunologist. Research interests may be in cancer immunology, autoimmune disease, vascular immunology, leukemia/lymphoma immunology, or any of the following immunology research areas: T cell biology, checkpoint inhibitors, engineered immune cells of any type, antigen presentation and DC biology, ADCC, Fc receptors, complement, monocyte and macrophage biology. Responsibilities
Funding (75%): Expected to maintain continuous NIH funding.
Teaching (10%): Train graduate students and postdocs, and possibly teach an advanced Immunology course.
Service (10%): Participate on IMMCG & AU committees.
Other (5%): Other duties as assigned by Director.
Required Qualifications Ph.D., MD, or Ph.D./MD, or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
Rank-specific requirements:
Assistant Professor – Early level career faculty member with appropriate post‑graduate training.
Associate Professor – Mid level faculty member with at least five years as an Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Professor – Senior level faculty member with at least five years as an Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Additional faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks:
Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)’s requirements for institutional accreditation.
Evidence of ability as a teacher.
Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned.
Successful experience (waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements).
Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.
Shift / Salary / Benefits This is a fiscal year based position that works year‑round. The intended full‑time commitment is 1.0 FTE. Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and are subject to availability of funds for each rank. Full‑time employees who have been employed for more than six months may be considered for the Tuition Assistance Program. College / Department Information The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class. The educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, regional clinical campuses for third‑ and fourth‑year students across the state, and a second four‑year campus in Athens in partnership with the University of Georgia. MCG’s partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia provide about 350 clinical sites for students and more than 500 residents and fellows in 50 different accreditation‑approved programs. Research focuses on cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences, behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine, and genomics. Faculty also share expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide.
