Role at a Glance This position will perform and deliver on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of their assigned areas of Financial Reporting responsibility. They will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reporting on activities associated with accounting principles and standards, and financial statements.
What You’ll Be Doing
Preparing, analyzing, and reporting on financial statements and supporting schedules according to the accounting and reporting calendars
Participating in accounting close including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
Conducting financial analysis on consolidated and business unit results, providing ongoing support for the business unit teams and partners as needed
Identifying and researching reporting issues arising from application of accounting principles and regulations and assessing their applicability
Preparing, reviewing, and filing quarterly and annual SEC, NAIC, and other regulatory filings
Reviewing and analyzing quarterly and annual SEC filings, financial statements, and other financial data for press releases
Preparing and/or reviewing internal management reporting
Preparing and/or reconciling other financial data for investor relations
Providing support with the coordination of SOX, MAR, and regulatory testing to comply with key controls developed for the group
What We’re Looking For Must‑Haves
4 Year/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s)
1–3+ years of experience in Financial Analysis that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Team player with ability to work collaboratively
Process improvement mindset
Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
Excellent organization and prioritization skills with attention to detail
Sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information
Nice‑to‑Haves
CPA or CPA eligibility preferred
Prior experience in insurance/financial services
Experience with Essbase, Hyperion, SAP Business Objects, PeopleSoft
Travel Requirements
Travel Type: Regional Domestic
Travel Amount: 0–10%
