The University of Iowa Parking & Transportation department is seeking a
Parking & Transportation Field Services Officer II . Under general supervision, patrols campus to ensure compliance with university parking regulations. Responds to violations on foot, bicycle, or in motor vehicles. Provides assistance to motorists/bicyclists, various University departments and programs such as the University of Iowa Health Care, University Van Pool, Parking Cashiering, Parking Maintenance, and Campus Safety.
This position is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization.
Duties to include:
Patrols campus in order to enforce motorist and bicycle parking regulations, issues parking violations through operation of electronic tickets writers; uses independent discretion when enforcing parking regulations.
Consults tow list and enforces violations using the department’s towing procedure. Requires officer discretion to initiate 3rd party vendor contact and other appropriate action that could result in impoundment of vehicle.
Officer is responsible for inventory of prior vehicle damage and coordinates transport of critical information on vehicle owner between University Police and vendor.
Officer secures and maintains responsibility for the vehicle until the violator shows up or vehicle is removed.
Hoods parking meters for reserved parking, posts signs and places barricades to regulate and reserve parking for special situations.
Oversee part time student officers working shift. Assist in recruiting, hiring, and scheduling of part time student officers.

Monday-Friday 2:30pm to 11:00pm

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent.
Any combination of public contact experience and/or college or university level course work which is equivalent to three years of full‑time employment.
Possession of a valid U.S. driver’s license and the ability to meet and maintain UI Driving Policy.
Special Qualifications:
Possession of a valid U.S. driver’s license and the ability to meet and maintain UI Driving Policy.
Desirable Qualifications:
Knowledge of University of Iowa Campus and locations of various parking facilities.
Customer service/public contact experience.
Ability to adapt, prioritize and organize multiple tasks.
Excellent communication skills in order to interact effectively with people from various backgrounds and cultures.
