We are seeking a technically skilled and data-driven professional, detail-oriented and results-focused, to lead the cost estimation process and support proposals and bids. The selected candidate will work closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure competitive, accurate budgets aligned with the project’s actual scope. What you’ll do
This role supports the daily execution of ongoing projects to ensure order, compliance, and operational efficiency. Analyze plans, specifications, and technical documents. Identify project scope and construction requirements. Request quotes and estimates from subcontractors and vendors. Evaluate project conditions and potential cost risks. Prepare detailed estimates of materials, labor, and equipment. Determine margins, contingencies, and indirect costs. Compare unit prices and analyze design alternatives. Prepare the total project budget. Review plan changes and update cost estimates. Support proposal preparation and bidding processes. Coordinate with the Project Manager on cost control during construction. Document and maintain a historical price database. Assist with inventory management for materials and equipment. Establish project purchase orders. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or a construction-related field, or equivalent experience in construction cost estimating. 5+ years of experience in cost estimating or related functions (residential, commercial, or industrial experience preferred). Proficiency in Excel; experience with Procore and Bluebeam (AutoCAD and Microsoft Project preferred). Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment regarding unit pricing, contingencies, and risk. Effective communication with PMs, subcontractors, and suppliers; strong organization and deadline management. Valid driver’s license and availability for pre-bid site visits. Experience with estimating software (e.g., Sage/Timberline, PlanSwift, or other relevant tools). Exposure to public/federal bids and value engineering. Familiarity with OSHA/PR OSHA and best safety/compliance practices. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year Benefits
