About Us At Community Counseling of Bristol County (CCBC), we are building an amazing team of professionals who are changing the way mental health is treated in southeastern Massachusetts. We operate in schools, homes and community settings, empowering clients with evidence‑based behavioral health treatments. As a non‑profit serving 50 communities in Massachusetts, we offer inpatient, outpatient and urgent care services for adults and children with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, substance abuse and other challenges.

Description of Position Community Counseling of Bristol County is seeking Bachelor’s level candidates to join our Therapeutic Mentoring program. Therapeutic Mentors provide one‑to‑one intervention and skill‑building to youth ages 7‑21, helping them develop daily living, social, communication and emotional regulation skills. You will meet with youth in the community to coach self‑management, problem‑solving, conflict‑resolution, and peer‑interaction strategies. Skill building is delivered through social, recreational, athletic, artistic, educational and vocational activities.

Responsibilities

Meet one‑to‑one with youth in community settings

Develop treatment plans in collaboration with outpatient therapists, Intensive Care Coordinators and/or In‑Home Therapists

Support the youth in developing goals in identified skill‑building areas

Consult with schools, outpatient providers and psychiatric providers to support the youth’s ongoing treatment needs

Identify community supports and activities to engage youth in skill‑building goals

Provide flexibility and creativity in engaging youth of varying developmental levels

Meet all documentation requirements of the agency and TM program specifications

Qualifications & Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field

One year of experience working with children and families; volunteer and internship experience will be considered

A valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Strong organizational skills and effective verbal, written and computer skills

Proficiency with computers, including ability to use or learn an electronic health record system and audio‑visual communication technology

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual (Spanish) encouraged to apply

Program Information

In‑Community Therapeutic Services: Voluntary intensive, therapeutic services in the home setting to assist families in stabilizing children and adolescents during a psychiatric crisis.
