Overview
We are seeking a team of laser/photonics professionals to build and operate a suite of optical and laser-based systems for Inertia’s fusion energy program. Working in a newly constructed set of labs, we are building a wide range of test facilities and state-of-the-art capabilities. Come join the team that is creating a new era of clean energy!
Primary Responsibilities
Assemble, build and test precision mechanical, electrical, optical and laser systems
Work with the physics, controls and engineering team to deliver high performance integrated capabilities – for example to characterize and optimize laser system performance
Support the design and operation of optical metrology test beds
Ensure all work is undertaken safely and efficiently
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Associate Degree in lasers, optics, photonics, or similar subject
Experience in precision laboratory environments
Preferred:
Experience working with high energy and high power laser systems.
Experience with precision alignment, characterization and use of laser diagnostics
Salary & Benefits We offer market-competitive compensation and an excellent benefits program, including Medical, Dental, and Vision plans, company-paid holidays, matching 401k, and more!
About Inertia Inertia is taking the most direct, scientifically-proven path to commercializing fusion, leveraging the only successful achievement of fusion ignition, using a process that was pioneered at the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). With groundbreaking innovation, transformative technology, and multi-year investment, Inertia is committed to commercializing fusion energy in the next decade.
