Summary We're looking for a Cloud Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you'll be a key player in supporting and evolving our cloud infrastructure, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Endpoint Management (Intune), alongside our general IT security posture.

You’ll gain hands‑on experience, troubleshoot real‑world issues, and contribute to exciting cloud and security projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a foundational IT knowledge and a desire to deepen their expertise in cloud computing and cyber security, working alongside experienced professionals and potentially guiding less experienced team members.

This position is onsite 5 days a week at our New York City offices.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud & User Support:

Provide first and second‑line support for Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Entra ID/Azure AD), including user provisioning, licensing, permissions, and basic troubleshooting.

Assist with day‑to‑day administration and monitoring of Azure resources (e.g., virtual machines, storage accounts, networking basics).

Resolve general IT issues related to cloud connectivity and application integration.

Document solutions, create knowledge base articles, and improve support processes.

Endpoint & Device Management (Intune Focus):

Assist with the administration and support of devices (Windows, iOS, Android) managed through Microsoft Intune (Microsoft Endpoint Manager).

Help with device enrollment, application deployment, and basic troubleshooting of Intune policies.

Contribute to ensuring device compliance and security configurations.

Security Support & Administration:

Assist with the implementation and monitoring of basic security controls within Microsoft 365 and Azure.

Participate in user access reviews and assist with managing security groups and permissions in Entra ID (Azure AD).

Help respond to and elevate security incidents, contributing to incident response procedures.

Promote security awareness best practices among end‑users.

Cloud Infrastructure Assistance:

Collaborate with senior engineers on the implementation and configuration of new cloud services and features within Azure and Microsoft 365.

Assist with routine maintenance tasks, including patching, backups, and security checks in cloud environments.

Monitor cloud service health, performance and resource utilization, escalating complex issues as needed.

Contribute to the identification of areas for automation and efficiency gains.

Team Collaboration & Project Involvement:

Work closely with the IT team on various projects, learning from senior staff and contributing to project tasks.

Participate in the planning and execution of small to medium‑sized cloud or security initiatives or specific project phases.

Assist with onboarding and training very junior IT staff or new hires on cloud basics, endpoint management, and security awareness.

Continuously learn and stay updated on emerging cloud technologies and best practices, with a focus on security.

Qualifications

Education: A bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience and certifications.

Experience:

3‑5 years of experience in an IT support or junior administration role.

Demonstrated experience with Microsoft 365 administration (e.g., user management, mailbox administration, basic SharePoint).

Some exposure to Microsoft Azure (e.g., virtual machines, networking concepts, Azure AD) in a professional or lab setting is a strong advantage.

Familiarity with Microsoft Intune or other mobile device management (MDM) solutions is highly desirable.

Basic understanding of general cloud computing concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).

Technical Skills:

Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems and common business applications.

Familiarity with network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN).

Strong understanding of Entra ID (Azure AD) for identity and access management.

Basic knowledge of IT security principles (e.g., least privilege, multi‑factor authentication, endpoint protection).

Exposure to PowerShell scripting for automation and administration is a plus.

Preferred Certifications (or willingness to obtain within 6-12 months)

Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamental (AZ-900)

Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (MS-900)

Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900)

Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102) - for career progression

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) - for career progression
