Sanitation & Housekeeping Specialist
Location: Detroit, MI.
Schedule: AM & PM shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Job Description We are seeking a reliable Sanitation and Housekeeping Specialist with at least 3 years of experience in housekeeping or cleaning within a manufacturing facility or medical facility . The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment that meets health and safety standards in both production and common areas. Applicants must have a relevant resume demonstrating experience in industrial or healthcare cleaning.
Key Responsibilities
Clean and disinfect patient rooms, operating rooms, exam rooms, restrooms, and public areas in accordance with facility protocols and infection control standards.
Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous waste, sharps, and soiled linens following OSHA and facility guidelines.
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, vacuums, buffers, and UV disinfecting machines.
Replenish cleaning and hygiene supplies such as soap, hand sanitizer, paper products, and PPE to maintain readiness in all areas.
Perform deep cleaning, spill response, and emergency sanitation tasks promptly and efficiently.
Follow all chemical handling procedures and wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Maintain accurate cleaning logs and inspection reports as required by company and state regulations.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of housekeeping, custodial, or sanitation experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or healthcare facility .
Working knowledge of infection control, and chemical safety.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks safely.
Strong attention to detail, dependability, and a positive attitude toward teamwork and customer service.
