The Opportunity We’re hiring a Control Systems Project Engineer II to lead PLC programming, SCADA development, and field commissioning for a high-profile data-center controls project in Montgomery, AL. You’ll own technical execution from design through turnover—coordinating daily with clients, subcontractors, and Thermo teammates. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role for an engineer who enjoys leading, mentoring, and solving complex challenges in real time.

What You’ll Do
Lead design, programming, and integration of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems (Rockwell, Siemens, Modicon, AVEVA, Ignition).
Oversee system start-up, commissioning, and testing (FAT/SAT) while mentoring field teams.
Review and redline P&IDs, control narratives, wiring diagrams, and as-built drawings.
Specify instrumentation, I/O lists, and cause-and-effect matrices; ensure all designs meet standards and cost goals.
Support IT/OT network architecture, server/VM setup, and cybersecurity compliance.
Anticipate customer needs, identify risks, and coordinate proactive solutions.
Collaborate with project managers to ensure scope, schedule, and budget success.
What You Bring
Education : B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Controls Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Experience : 5–7+ years in controls/automation, including 3+ years in project engineering or technical leadership.
Technical Skills : PLC and SCADA/HMI programming, field commissioning, instrumentation, and network integration.
Soft Skills : Strong communicator, analytical thinker, steady under pressure, and team-oriented.
Other:
Valid driver’s license; work authorization in the U.S.; fit for duty.
