Managing Veterinarian – Summers Ridge Veterinary Clinic
Janesville, Minnesota — Full‑time, Clinical Practice
Salary range: USD $120,000.00 – $160,000.00 per year.
Sign‑On Bonus: $30,000.00
Practice Overview Summers Ridge opened in 1986 and has grown into a multi‑species medical practice. In 2012 we moved into a new facility expanding from 900 sq. ft. to 2,300 sq. ft., which allowed for additional exam rooms and kennel space.
We equipped the clinic with state‑of‑the‑art monitoring equipment for surgeries, digital x‑rays, advanced blood work machines, and laser therapy. These technologies enable a strong focus on small animal medicine and surgery.
More About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Managing Veterinarian (MDVM) to lead our well‑established, full‑service practice. This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical skills with leadership in a supportive, collaborative environment.
As Managing DVM, you will balance clinical duties with leadership responsibilities, guide the practice’s medical direction, mentor the team, maintain high care standards, and collaborate with hospital leadership on operations and growth initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities
Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
Provide counsel around pet end‑of‑life care.
Maintain patients’ medical records.
Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications
DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
Appropriate state licensure.
Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
