Structural Project Engineer
Alexandria, VA | Full-Time | Hybrid Work Schedule Available
What You’ll Do
Perform structural engineering tasks, calculations, and analyses using both hand methods and software tools
Develop drawings, reports, and specifications for a variety of projects
Coordinate structural design activities with other disciplines
Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior staff
Support proposal development and assist with estimating structural design efforts
Review submittals, respond to construction inquiries, and conduct field visits to active project sites
What You’ll Bring
10+ years of progressive structural design experience with steel and concrete systems
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering (Structural focus) or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia or ability to obtain reciprocity within 3 months
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit
Experience using structural analysis software such as RAM Structural System, RISA, or RAM Concept
Eligibility to work in the U.S. and obtain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with federal or industrial projects
Master’s degree in Structural or Architectural Engineering
Familiarity with Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build project delivery
Experience with blast-resistant design
