Full Job Description Jennings H. Mitchell and Son Inc. is seeking a well-organized and detail-oriented Commercial Foreman to lead our on-site crews in the successful execution of framing and drywall construction projects. The Foreman will be responsible for supervising job site activities, ensuring the timely and proper completion of tasks, and maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and communication with clients and team members. Responsibilities
Safety Leadership:
Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and immediately address any safety hazards to ensure a safe work environment.
Team Supervision:
Direct and supervise the activities of on-site crew members and subcontractors, ensuring tasks are performed efficiently and correctly.
Project Scheduling:
Maintain construction schedules, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and according to project requirements.
Client Relations:
Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and employees through clear communication and professional interactions.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed written and photographic documentation of daily work completed, safety issues, and any damages caused by other trades.
Reporting:
Ensure all job reports and necessary documents are completed and submitted accurately and on time.
Blueprint Interpretation:
Read and interpret blueprints, ensuring proper understanding and execution of project plans.
Ideal Candidate
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Foreman in the construction industry, with specific experience in metal framing, drywall, FRP work, finishing work, acoustical ceilings, and doors and frames. Interiors and Exteriors.
Leadership Skills:
Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of managing crews and working independently with minimal supervision.
Detail-Oriented:
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively, ensuring quality and adherence to project timelines.
Problem Solving:
Strong problem‑solving abilities and the ability to maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations.
Communication:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially when interacting with client representatives and project teams.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and blueprint reading. Familiarity with software such as Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and PDF tools.
Driver's License:
Must have a valid state driver's license and reliable transportation.
Willingness to Travel:
Ability to travel and work out of territory as needed.
Compliance:
Ability to pass a background check.
