Travel Sterile Processing Tech - $1,424 per week in Bethpage, NY

Job Title: Technologist or Technician Profession: Technologist or Technician Specialty: Sterile Processing Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 7.5 Experience: 2 years preferred License: High School Diploma or equivalent required Certifications: Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD) must not expire during the term of the assignment Must-Have: - 2 years of experience preferred - Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds required - Manual dexterity and ability to stand, bend, lift, and/or reach for extended periods of time required - Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing) and follow oral and/or written instructions required Description: Every other weekend is required. The facility is a large, busy state-of-the-art off-site reprocessing center providing sterile processing services. Responsibilities include disassembling, cleaning, sterilizing, reassembling, and packaging sterile supplies according to specifications and/or manufacturer instructions. The technician follows department protocols while operating washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers, and additional equipment. The role involves adhering to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts. Retrieving used trays, instruments, and equipment from various areas for decontamination is required. Instruments and patient care equipment must be examined for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality. Malfunctioning items must be identified, recorded, and promptly reported to a supervisor or biomedical engineer. Assists in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels. Performs required duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment. Scrubs will be provided and must be laundered on-site. Shoes, jewelry, hair, and beard must be covered.
