Site Mgr-Day Habilitation program

Glen Head location

Mon-Fri 7:30-3:30p

Responsible for oversight and coordination of all daily activities of volunteers and staff assigned to the site. Oversees activities involving caring for farm animals, grounds maintenance, and horticulture programs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree in Human Services related field preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience supporting people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and computer proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite applications preferred.
  • Qualified NYS driver license and must be maintained during employment.
  • AMAP/CPR/First Aid/SCIP-R and defensive driving training preferred.

Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Develops individualized habilitation plans in conjunction with volunteers and ensures all documentation is completed and maintained.
  • Coordinates on-site and community-based activities for volunteers.
  • Supervises Assistant Manager and DSPs.
  • Oversees and participates in transports to and from the program, volunteer locations, and community activities.
  • Maintains communication with parents, service coordinators regarding volunteer progress, problems, and needs.
  • Provides direct support services to volunteers as needed.
  • Oversees care of animals including feeding, grooming, maintaining equipment and stables.
  • Oversees grounds and horticultural initiatives.
  • Ensures volunteer safety, reports incidents promptly.
  • Documents physical plant issues, maintains furniture, equipment, supplies.
  • Participates in meetings, observations, staff consultations.
  • Trains and supports volunteers in tasks related to their roles.
  • Promotes agency philosophies and principles.
  • Completes required trainings and certifications.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Ensures safety procedures are followed, reports unsafe acts or hazards.

Physical demands/work environment: includes lifting, transferring, transportation, and driving as needed.
