Board Certified/Board Eligible Physicians (Emergency Medicine strongly preferred) or Internal Medicine or Family Practice, with prior significant experience in an Emergency Department
Must have BLS, ACLS, DEA
18 months experience in ER setting
Job Description:
Evaluation, emergent treatment, and management of a wide range of emergency conditions, including trauma, medical, surgical, psychiatric, and obstetric emergencies.
Perform and oversee emergent procedures such as intubation, central line placement, chest tube insertion, and others as appropriate and safe.
Stabilize and transfer patients requiring higher levels of care per USC 1784A standards.
Provide consultation, discharge education, and coordinate follow-up care for emergency department patients.
Participate in inpatient admissions review and ensure proper hand-offs and documentation.
Apply orthopedic devices and follow medication policies, avoiding the provision of sample medications.
Attend scheduled shifts punctually and be prepared to handle all emergent situations within the scope of emergency medicine.
