Purpose
Provide temporary essential administrative and clerical support during staff absences. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front office operations including answering phones, greeting visitors, managing student records and handling various clerical tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as secretary and receptionist for the Principal and Associate Principal, performing any duty delegated by them.
- Answer telephone, tend routine inquiries and refer calls when needed.
- Sort teachers’ mail and distribute the same in mailboxes.
- Type letters, memoranda, reports, bulletins, forms, etc.
- Organize supplies and instructional materials for distribution to teachers.
- Maintain a log of visitors to the school.
- Process building purchase orders in conjunction with Central Office.
- Keep accurate data on personnel absences and records for substitute teachers.
- Arrange substitutes for any faculty who is absent.
- Work cooperatively with staff in other offices with the completion of large or time‑sensitive projects or emergencies.
- Display ethical and professional behavior in working with everyone who communicates or is associated with the office. Serve as a role model for students and staff in demonstrating positive attitudes, appropriate attire and grooming, accepting responsibility, and an effective work ethic.
- Protect confidentiality of records and information about students and staff and use discretion when sharing any such information within legal confines.
- Maintain a positive attitude with students, staff, parents, and visitors.
