About Us

At Practice by Numbers, we’re redefining how dental and medical practices grow using next-generation software that blends data, automation, and AI. Our all-in-one platform helps providers optimize operations, drive patient engagement, and accelerate business growth.

When you’re building a startup, you can’t have a playbook for everything. You need people with a founder’s mindset, ownership spirit, and creativity to solve problems that haven’t been solved before.

We’re scaling fast, and our biggest advantage is our people. We’re now looking for a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) who can architect the systems, processes, and culture that power a high-growth, high-performance organization.

This role reports directly to the CEO (Founder) and works closely with the CTO, CX, Sales, and Marketing leadership to shape how we attract, retain, and develop top-tier talent — with a special emphasis on technical recruiting and operational excellence.

The Role

This isn’t traditional HR; it’s about building people infrastructure for a company that’s growing fast and breaking new ground.

You’ll design frameworks for recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding, establish scalable HR processes, and lead initiatives that connect business outcomes with people success.

Your focus areas will span technical recruiting, HR operations, and organizational effectiveness — everything needed to grow a startup from talent acquisition through long‑term engagement and retention.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Partnering

  • Work directly with the CEO and leadership team to define and execute company‑wide people and talent strategies.
  • Align recruiting and HR operations with evolving business priorities and scaling needs.
  • Own the end‑to‑end recruiting process, sourcing, interviews, offers, and onboarding with a focus on engineering, AI, and product talent.
  • Design and manage interview loops, role architectures, and candidate experience programs.
  • Partner with leadership to maintain clear job levels, competencies, and career paths.

HR & People Operations

  • Build and maintain scalable HR systems, policies, and compliance documentation.
  • Manage new hire onboarding, offboarding, and asset tracking (equipment distribution and return).
  • Oversee employee data integrity, document management, and lifecycle tracking.
  • Coordinate background checks, benefits enrollment, and employment documentation.
  • Establish frameworks for performance management, goal setting, and manager enablement.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track recruiting metrics (time‑to‑hire, cost‑per‑hire, quality‑of‑hire) and people analytics (attrition, engagement).
  • Partner with Finance and Leadership on headcount planning, compensation benchmarking, and budget alignment.

Culture & Engagement

  • Drive initiatives that reinforce a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Lead engagement feedback loops and action plans to improve team experience.
  • Collaborate with CX, Sales, and Marketing to strengthen employer brand presence.

You’ll Thrive Here If You...

  • Think like a founder, not a function.
  • Love solving ambiguous people problems with structure and empathy.
  • Can balance compliance with creativity and process with purpose.
  • Believe great culture doesn’t happen by chance; it’s built, measured, and refined every day.

What We’re Looking For

  • 6–10 years of HR, People Operations, or Recruiting experience, with 3+ years focused on technical recruiting or HRBP roles for product/engineering teams.
  • Proven ability to scale HR and recruiting processes in fast‑growth SaaS or startup environments.
  • Strong command of HRIS/ATS tools (e.g., Rippling, Greenhouse, Lever) and best practices for compliance and documentation.
  • Experience designing job architectures, leveling frameworks, and performance systems.
  • Data‑driven decision‑maker with comfort in analytics and reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
  • A bias for action, adaptable, pragmatic, and passionate about building systems that empower people and performance.

Preferred

  • Based in or willing to relocate to the Pacific Northwest (Bellevue, or nearby Greater Seattle).
  • Prior experience partnering directly with the C‑suite or founders.
  • Exposure to distributed team structures (U.S. and India).
  • Background in scaling HR operations within technical or AI‑driven organizations.
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience.
  • Stock options.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Direct collaboration with company leadership on organization design, scaling strategy, and talent operations.
