Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Ultrasonographer for the OB/GYN Clinic at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Performs specialized obstetrical and gynecological sonographic examinations for a high‑risk population. Exams are performed in the Antenatal Testing Unit at the Clinical Academic Building, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital's Labor and Delivery and Antepartum Floors, and at contracted hospital sites. This position will staff contracted clinical outreach sites and the Antenatal Testing Unit at RWJUH in New Brunswick.

Responsibilities

Advises patients regarding preparation of necessary forms; counsels patients regarding paperwork requirements.

Obtains patient history, previous reports, and relevant laboratory data.

Conducts detailed obstetrical sonographic evaluations at all stages of gestation. This includes biometry to establish dates/assess growth, and detailed anatomic surveys of the fetus, uterus, and adnexa.

Performs gynecological sonograms including follicular monitoring, measurements of the uterus and ovaries, and evaluation of pelvic masses.

Performs biophysical profiles and Doppler flow studies.

Provides ultrasound guidance in invasive procedures including but not limited to amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, percutaneous umbilical blood sampling, and intrauterine blood transfusions. Observes sterile technique when assisting in invasive procedures.

Salary Details Minimum Salary: $40,740. Mid‑Range Salary: $41,240. Maximum Salary: $42,480. The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, and expertise, as well as availability of department or grant funds to support the position. We also consider market benchmarks and internal equity to ensure fair compensation relative to the university’s broader compensation structure.

Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience

Graduate from accredited ultrasound school.

Must have at least a minimum of 600 clinical externship hours.

Certifications/Licenses

Obtains ARDMS registration in Physics and OB/GYN within one (1) year from date of hire.

Obtains CME credits as required to maintain Active Registry status.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical demands: Standing, walking, sitting; use of the hands to finger, handle or feel; talk and hear 2/3 of the time; reach with hands and arms over 1/3 of the time; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl under 1/3 of the time; lift up to 10 pounds (1/3 of the time) and up to 25 pounds (under 1/3 of the time).

Work environment: Moderate noise environment with some exposure ( Special Conditions

Ability to travel to provide coverage at ‘off‑site’ practices as needed.
