What You’ll Do For Our Patients
Collaborate with Medical Providers and Medical Assistants through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.
Exercise professional judgment to provide health care services, including applying x‑ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups.
Job Requirements Education
High School Diploma required
Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required
Work Experience
Experience in a clinical setting preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at time of hire
State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist is required at the time of hire (if applicable by state law)
Essential Functions
Responsible for x‑ray services as needed
Under the direction of the clinical provider, perform x‑ray services, ensuring correct positioning and protection of patients during use.
May need to push patient in a wheelchair
Patient Preparation and Rooming
Inform technical staff of patient flow.
Prepare patients for examination, including conducting interviews to verify patient information and record medical history.
Perform preliminary physical tests for vital signs and escalate critical cases to provider as needed.
Conduct point‑of‑care testing such as flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG, and provide patient information to provider.
Administrative
Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files.
Conduct courtesy call‑backs for patient follow‑up on care.
Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain QA/QC logs, troubleshoot breakdowns, and submit repair tickets as needed.
Other Responsibilities
Collaborate with the ordering/treating Provider to determine appropriate procedures or views.
Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Accurately position patients and equipment for optimal imaging results.
Select proper ionizing factors and adjust radiographic controls to capture clear images.
Perform routine maintenance, cleaning of X‑ray equipment, and manage supplies.
Adhere to radiation safety protocols and implement ALARA principles.
Maintain accurate patient records and log completed procedures.
Verify image quality and ensure images are sent to radiologists for interpretation.
Knowledge
Knowledge of X‑ray procedures and protocols.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, body mechanics, and patient movement.
Knowledge of radiology equipment and safety hazards.
Skills
Position patients properly for X‑ray procedures.
Identify equipment problems and notify supervisor.
Follow infection control and radiological safety procedures.
