We are seeking an Entry Level, Associate, or Experienced Equipment and Tool Engineer (Levels 1-3) to support the manufacturing and assembly of the Space Launch System (SLS) Core Stage (CS) and Exploration Upper Stage (EUS) at the Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Location: Michoud Assembly Facility, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Position Responsibilities
Assists with the development of basic equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System.
Compiles and analyzes technical data for equipment and tooling.
Assists with compliance reviews regarding safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
Supports the tracking of contractual performance milestones, the development of preventative maintenance and spares plans, assists with production readiness planning, and training of Production and personnel.
Develops and implements basic work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation.
Assists with the disposition of assets.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
Experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems.
Experience reading and comprehending engineering tooling drawings.
Experience with 3D modeling, analysis and simulation of production systems.
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Master’s Degree from an accredited course of study in a STEM field.
Familiar with CATIA and CREO.
Familiar with product configuration management.
Familiar following the procedures of a production quality management systems.
Familiar with receiving requirements and writing outsource specifications leveraging industry standards and best practices.
Familiar developing mitigations and work‑around plans in a manufacturing setting.
Relocation This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
