Job Title: Sr Application Engineer (f/m/d)

Location: Stockholm (Kista), Sweden

Reports to: AE Group Director

Job Overview The Cadence Application Engineer (AE) role is a great opportunity to employ your strong technical skills to enable semiconductor companies adopting Cadence solutions and associated IC design methodologies.

The Application Engineer will work with some of the most technically demanding IC design & development solutions and leading‑edge silicon process technologies. The AE will support Cadence solutions with an emphasis on our leading Custom IC Virtuoso Studio platform.

Job Responsibilities

Support customers in their use of EDA tools for custom and mixed signal IC design with a focus on analog layout automation technologies.

Deliver technical training and methodology services in these areas.

Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations, including development of customized presentations and demos as required.

Drive technical campaigns and product evaluations to resolve customer design challenges.

Enable customers’ deployment of new Cadence solutions into production design flows, including debugging technical software and layout issues as needed.

Develop an understanding of the customer's needs to create solutions that best meet their requirements.

Communicate customer requirements and feedback to Cadence product groups and marketing for issue resolution and to improve product features and quality.

Job Qualifications

BSc required, MSc/MEng preferred in Electronic Engineering / Physics

3+ years’ experience of analog/mixed-signal IC layout/design or CAD support, ideally within Cadence tooling and associated design methodologies.

Experience of physical verification and parasitic extraction.

Experience of UNIX environments.

Preferred knowledge of SKILL, Python or other programming languages.

Excellent problem‑solving skills.

Team player who is passionate about technology but also understands business requirements.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and productively with high quality output in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.

Interest and ability to learn new technologies.

Some travel will be required – mostly within the Nordic countries, but occasionally elsewhere in EMEA.
