Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Sr. Principal Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist to join our team supporting the Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) business unit. The main location of the PS&C business unit is in Elkton, Maryland. It began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL. This position can be worked from a remote location away from the three facilities.

Manages a purchasing queue of requirements for various energetic suppliers and complex subcontracts

Supports Proposal activity as well as active program requirements

Identifies strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency, and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations

Negotiates simple to complex terms and conditions including but not limited to Non-Disclosure Agreements, Subcontract Terms and Conditions and Teaming Agreements

Manages performance of subcontracts and ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations

Identifies and works to closeout subcontracts

Coordinates and collaborates with key stakeholders such as program managements, material program management, contracts, security and legal departments

In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors quality and reliability, as well as the ability to support required delivery schedules

Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities

Ensures that appropriate documentation is provided to all necessary stakeholders and ensure that proper receipt is recorded

Manages and develops strategic/key suppliers

Basic Qualifications

Must have 12 years of experience in Supply Chain. Will also consider a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or related field with 8 years of experience or a Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or related field with 6 years of experience.

Great communication skills

Experience in supply chain, business management, contracts or other related field

Prior Procurement/Subcontracts experience

Knowledge of FAR/DFAR requirements

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated management/Leadership abilities

Good Organizational Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft office suite

Costpoint, SAP or other ERP purchasing system experience

Knowledge of multiple contract types (T&M, Cost Reimbursable, FFP, etc.)

Experience with international/foreign procurements/policies

Primary Level Salary Range: $103,200.00 - $154,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
