Job Summary Supervises and prepares financial statements and oversees our weekly forecast presentation (flash report) to management. Analyzing data to support business decision‑making, manages financial reporting, weekly forecasting; oversees accounting procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP regulations. As a manager of Taylor Farms, we’ll rely on you to provide advice to support our company’s decision‑making. This position has direct reports and needs the ability to delegate and supervise work performed.
Essential Job Functions
Assuring banking transactions are recorded daily in the general ledger.
Reconcile and communicate Intercompany transactions.
Perform and execute a 7-day closing cycle at month end, which includes the master schedule of closing entries and duties.
Coordinate and execute year end closing procedures and provide documentation for annual audits.
Manage daily processing for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions are occurring in a timely manner for closing purposes. Provide necessary system cross‑training.
Reconcile all balance sheet general ledger accounts to their corresponding sub‑ledgers.
Assure all general ledger accounts are mapped according to the proper financial statement accounts.
Execute weekly Flash Report and provide accurate and timely financial statements to senior management.
Primary contact for the Taylor Farms Corporate Office regarding accounting matters when the Controller is out of the office.
Recording of fixed asset and capital lease activity and assure depreciation and amortization is booked accurately and timely.
Assure all tax related reporting is complete for all federal, state, and local entities. (i.e. sales and property taxes)
Monitor and analyze accounting data that produces financial reports or statements.
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods and policies according to GAAP.
Establish and maintain files, records, and electronic media to document transactions and best practice document storage.
Other duties as assigned by the Controller and President.
Physical Demands
Long periods of sitting.
Regularly lift and / or move up to 10 lbs.
Occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 lbs.
Position Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Five years plus experience as an accountant preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Detail‑oriented and possess sharp business acumen.
Communicate effectively with senior management and all departments, local and corporate.
Ability to work and lead in a team environment.
Ability to train and teach others.
Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
Microsoft Dynamics D365 or similar ERP software experience preferred.
