Their service offerings include, warehousing, drayage, brokerage, and other valued added transportation services with a focus in retail, CPG, home goods, and FMCG, electronics, technology, and automotive clients.
Transportation Operations Manager The Transportation Operations Manager will lead a fast‑paced operation and be responsible for managing all day‑to‑day operations at their Sam Leandro. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all metrics, financial results, and development of managers, supervisors, drivers, dockworkers, and other support personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for all San Leandro transportation activity.
Ability to manage 40-60 employee drivers and LMC (licensed motor carriers)
Further develop and enhance the strategic operations planning to accomplish growth and profitability objectives.
Use of YMS and TMS programs.
Establish best practices through continuous improvement methodology.
Participation and interaction with senior‑level executives of our clients.
Responsible for the efficient use of a large fleet and maintenance as well.
Budget and full P+L planning and management including supporting and developing budgets for the operation.
Management of the dispatch department.
Education and/or Experience:
Experience in drayage, transload, and value‑added transportation services.
Knowledge of DOT and OSHA.
Understand P&L statements and analyze areas for production improvement.
Experience creating a high‑trust, high‑performance, team culture.
Demonstrated leadership and people‑management skills.
Ability to provide structure and planning to meet the terminal and regional goals.
