Job Summary As a member of the COO Learning & Development (L&D) Team, the Senior Training Consultant consults with all levels of management to translate business requirements into learning and development strategy. The consultant also ensures that learning and development interventions are aligned with the needs of the Business Unit and Northern Trust. Working collaboratively with Training Consultants, the Senior Consultant defines learning solutions that support functional requirements and assists management in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs and curriculums that support management and development. The role delivers and/or oversees the delivery of a wide range of learning and performance support solutions that are highly visible and complex in nature. The Senior Consultant engages with local and regional practice leads and stakeholders to deliver solutions required to support organizational goals at a local and global level, assigns work to the L&D Team, and contributes to the performance management process for the team.

Major Duties

Consults with all levels of management to translate business requirements into learning and development strategy.

Develops and implements programs that support individual and organizational performance aligned with Business Unit and/or enterprise-wide needs.

Designs and implements proactive communication plans to ensure that learning and development initiatives are communicated effectively to global audiences.

Evaluates training solutions to identify areas for improvement and maintain highest quality delivery.

Identifies and evaluates applicability of new learning development vehicles, tools or programs developed by other organizations or vendors, and recommends purchase of programs to management as appropriate.

Facilitates/conducts learning and training solutions.

Acts as project manager for major, complex, and high‑profile learning and development initiatives.

Keeps abreast of learning and development best practices and introduces them to Northern and the L&D Training Team.

Area Specific Duties – Fund Accounting

Develop/Coordinate/deliver the i2i program mandatory curriculum within assigned geographic location.

Liaise with both managers and participants to outline program requirements.

Continuous evaluation of the program working with GFS and stakeholders.

Design, develop and maintain a training curriculum for the Fund Accounting function within the Global L&D curriculum which can be implemented and delivered regardless of geographic location.

Coordinate/deliver the new hire curriculum within your geographic location.

Design and deliver training for existing systems and new system roll‑outs.

Ensure that the L&D Functional learning and development interventions are aligned with the Business Unit and/or enterprise-wide needs.

Consult with areas in the business unit to provide ongoing support.

Work collaboratively with other Global Training Teams.

Lead global projects within the FA Training group.

Skills / Experience

Technical expert with in‑depth knowledge of Fund Accounting and strong knowledge of the business unit and corporate strategy.

Strong project management capabilities.

Excellent communication, marketing, relationship, facilitation and motivational skills.

Strong judgment in formulating plans based on needs and leadership styles of key leaders.

Leadership and organizational skills are essential.

Requirements – Fund Accounting

Five to eight years of operational experience in the Fund Accounting operations function.

A strong understanding of complex fund structures and concepts.

A thorough understanding of the end‑to‑end Fund Accounting process.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to work with all levels of staff.

Self‑starter and team player.

Attention to detail.

Salary Range $95,600 – $162,400 USD per year
