David Rio is currently hiring for two positions: Retail Marketing Manager (this posting) and Senior Director of Marketing.

Position Summary We’re looking for a
Retail Marketing Manager
to elevate our digital presence, strengthen our brand identity, as well as grow our retail operations and catering operations in the SF Bay Area. This role will play a key part in shaping how our brand shows up across web, digital, and physical spaces.
Key Responsibilities Website & Digital Presence
Oversee and streamline the Bay Area website to simplify navigation and enhance user experience.
Ensure mobile responsiveness and SEO optimization to improve traffic and conversion.
Highlight core business pillars — catering, retail, and brand storytelling — more prominently.
Integrate a recipe and operator portal platform to support distribution and brand expansion.
Branding & Identity
Lead
Angelina’s rebranding , including updates to logo, packaging, signage, and POS materials.
Develop and maintain
brand templates
for menus, flyers, and in-store signage.
Build the
Chai Bar brand book , defining visual identity (tone, styling, color palette, typography, imagery).
Ensure consistent branding across packaging, ads, and digital assets.
Paid & Digital Marketing
Manage
Square marketing tools : email campaigns, loyalty programs, and promotions.
Automate targeted campaigns based on customer behavior and track performance metrics.
Drive awareness and sales through paid digital channels, email, and retargeting campaigns.
Catering Growth Initiatives
Develop clear, compelling catering packages with tiered pricing models.
Create a dedicated landing page and promotional assets to target corporate, school, and community events.
Build strategic partnerships with local event planners, venues, and co-working spaces.
Retail & In-Store Experience
Support retail cart build-out and design to align with new branding.
Optimize functional flow for staff efficiency and enhance customer engagement on the ground.
Community Engagement
dentify and execute partnerships with local events, farmers’ markets, and cultural festivals.
Develop influencer collaborations and sampling activations.
Highlight community stories, cultural authenticity, and local impact through social media.
Recipe & Knowledge Platform
Build and manage a
recipe portal
for operators, distributors, and international partners.
Provide product use cases, training videos, and downloadable assets (PDFs, one-pagers).
Establish the platform as a communication hub for distributor relationships.
Internal & Operator Communications
Develop consistent, scalable communication strategies for operators and distributors.
Create international-ready messaging that’s brand-aligned and easy to localize.
Ensure recipe instructions and product guides are clear, standardized, and globally usable.
Qualifications & Skills
5+ years of experience in
retail, food & beverage, or CPG marketing .
Proven track record in website management, branding, and campaign execution.
Strong understanding of SEO, digital advertising, and email marketing platforms ( Square, Mailchimp, Meta Ads, etc. ).
Experience with brand development, packaging, and in-store retail design.
Exceptional project management, communication, and creative direction skills.
Familiarity with catering, community engagement, or hospitality marketing is a plus.
Compensation Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The compensation package includes performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits plan.
