Summary Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support our team by conducting phone interviews and collecting critical data for our ongoing research project. This role is ideal for a student interested in gaining hands‑on experience in research methodologies and contributing to meaningful work that aims to be a part of documenting abortion care from a sociological lens.

Essential Functions

Conduct phone interviews with participants, adhering to the research protocol and ethical guidelines.

Collect and accurately record data from interviews in the designated database or spreadsheet.

Maintain confidentiality and privacy of participant information.

Assist with scheduling interviews and follow‑up calls as needed.

Provide regular updates to the research team and participate in team meetings.

Perform additional research‑related tasks as directed.

Salary Range

$17.95 per hour

Required Education And Experience

Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (e.g., sociology, public health, social work).

Excellent verbal communication skills and comfortable making phone calls.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Familiarity with basic research methods and data collection techniques.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software for data recording.

Passion for contributing to research that aims to improve access to essential services and uphold human rights.
