Job Description SAIC seeks a highly experienced and energetic Software Engineer to support the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, in performing operational maintenance and sustainment of ground‑based radars critical to U.S. and allied strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space surveillance missions.
The engineer will respond to and support the SAIC Program Manager and Chief Engineer in planning, developing, and delivering PARCS and UEWR assessments of systems and networks to identify deviations from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy.
Job Duties
Code development and deployment for software version releases modifying the baseline of BMEWS/PAVE PAWS ground‑based radar sensors.
Design, develop, document, test, and debug application software.
Conduct analysis and collaborate with subject‑matter experts on planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems.
Support integration, testing, development, and execution of complex systems.
Develop technical solutions to complex problems, using ingenuity and creativity.
Troubleshoot systems to resolve complex issues, coordinating with engineers responsible for sustaining operational and test systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years of experience.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Active Secret Clearance.
Experience developing software with C/C++ (older versions), Java, Python, and FORTRAN.
Experience with Linux operating systems.
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Experience developing technical documentation.
Desired
Leading agile software development teams.
Scrum Master experience.
Product Owner experience.
Sustaining Strategic Warning and Surveillance radar systems such as PAVE PAWS and UEWR.
Target Salary Range: $120,001 – $160,000
