Leidos’ Defense Systems Electronic Manufacturing Facility is seeking an Electro/Mechanical Assembly Lab Section Manager to join our team at our Electronics Manufacturing Facility. The candidate will be responsible for the leadership of a technician team that builds electro/mechanical assemblies. The type of work includes electronic assemblies that require AS9100 processing including calibrated tools, repeatable processes, testing and inspection. This position will lead the team of IPC‑620 certified technicians that work on a variety of products for military and space customers.
Primary Responsibilities
Knowledge of assembly requirements for electro/mechanical assemblies.
Working knowledge of testing and inspection of electro/mechanical assemblies.
Communicate with customers (internal or external) to provide updates on both schedule and cost.
Provide employee feedback and handle any disciplinary matters.
Review and approve timesheets and verify accuracy.
Enforce and follow company policies as applicable.
Engage with peers to share best practices.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s with 3+ years of prior relevant work experience. In lieu of a degree, a high‑school diploma/GED with 10 years of experience will be considered.
At least 2+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
Strong experience working with teams.
Ability to multi‑task and meet multiple objectives over similar time periods.
Knowledge of tools used for assembly (torque drivers, chemical dispense nozzles) and proper techniques required to use them. Basic experience reading mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing documentation is required.
Basic computer skills associated with these assembly tasks (such as retrieving the manufacturing documentation from the system, updating the system as router steps are completed, communicating via email, Excel spreadsheets, etc.).
Must be a U.S. citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Current or prior certification in IPC/WHMA‑A‑620.
Experience leading a team.
MES (Solumina or Aegis) Build Tracking experience.
