The EH&S Facilities Specialist will assist in the planning and execution of maintenance and general repairs of commercial buildings. Performing Facilities and Environmental Health and Safety functions, maintaining a safe and effective work environment for all Arthrex employees. Partnering with the Corporate EH&S Team carrying out Safety Training and ongoing Safety Initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide hands-on supervision and guidance to the maintenance and custodial personnel. Perform frequent evaluations of the Arthrex site to ensure the highest level of care and appearance. Manage the contractor and vendor relationships and documentation. Foster a work environment that emphasizes the implementation of quality and safety practices. Coordinates facility changes with contractors, building trades and regulatory agencies. Present training programs to personnel related to accident prevention and workplace safety. Maintain statistical data and prepare reports regarding occupational injuries and accidents. Participate in new hire orientations and perform inspections of Fire and Emergency systems. Recognize and correct safety hazards in the workplace. Must have flexible hours with occasional evening and weekend work. Involvement in the creation and maintenance of company safety teams. Develop equipment and job specific hazard analysis. Assist in maintaining Hazardous Material storage / disposal and regulatory compliance. Support all areas of the Arthrex Environmental, Health and Safety Program. Perform workplace inspections and training to maintain compliance with applicable OSHA and EPA Regulations and established procedures. Perform & Document equipment maintenance (PM’s) as required by the Quality Management System Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required Bachelors Degree or 3 years comparable experience required in implementation of EHS programs & Facilities maintenance required. Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training: Broad knowledge in electrical, mechanical, HVAC and other building maintenance. Knowledge and working experience with security and life-safety systems. Experience with Property Conservation programs including fire system testing and maintenance. Knowledge and skills necessary to interpret regulations, permits, and other technical data. Able to attend off-site training courses as necessary. First Aid, CPR and AED certified or ability to attain certification within 90 days. Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills: Advanced knowledge and experience with maintenance tools and machines. Experienced in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Outlook. Experience with Auto Cad desirable.
