The Center for Discovery (TCFD) is seeking a motivated and highly organized Development and Marketing Manager to join the Office of Strategic Outreach & Partnerships (SOAP) — a collaborative team that unites fundraising, communications, and partnerships to share the organization’s story and advance its mission.
The Development and Marketing Manager plays a key role in supporting fundraising initiatives, donor stewardship, and special events, while also contributing to marketing and communications efforts that strengthen visibility and engagement.
Key Responsibilities Fundraising and Donor Engagement
Support the implementation of TCFD’s annual campaigns, events, and initiatives.
Coordinate donor stewardship efforts, ensuring timely and meaningful acknowledgments, communications, and recognition.
Conduct research, identify, and qualify potential donors using various fundraising tools, philanthropy platforms, and primary research.
Write, edit, and submit letters of interest, grant proposals, progress reports for foundations and major donors.
Monitor RFPs and maintain a rolling grants calendar with deadlines, LOIs, proposals, and reporting dates.
Work with Program staff to gather relevant data for fundraising and grant reporting purposes.
Maintain accurate records, update relationship management activity, prepare mailing lists and reports, and process gifts in TCFD’s donor database software, Raiser’s Edge.
Manage donor database (Raiser’s Edge) with accuracy and integrity, entering gifts in a timely manner, tracking program and event attendance as well as donor engagement, and generating tax acknowledgements.
Track fundraising progress and prepare reports for internal stakeholders, including leadership and the finance and operations teams.
Contribute to strategies that expand donor engagement and strengthen philanthropic partnerships.
Marketing and Communications
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop compelling content that highlights TCFD’s mission, impact, and programs.
Draft and edit copy for donor communications, newsletters, social media, and digital campaigns.
Support the design and production of marketing materials, internal flyers, emails, swag, etc., ensuring consistency with TCFD’s brand and messaging.
Assist in the coordination of website updates and storytelling efforts that enhance organizational visibility.
Oversee the integration of Raiser’s Edge and email marketing software, Constant Contact, to ensure active email engagement with all audiences.
Event Support and Coordination
Support the planning and execution of major fundraising and cultivation events.
Coordinate logistics, timelines, and materials to ensure high-quality experiences for guests, donors, and partners.
Work with vendors, sponsors, committee members, and other collaborators to deliver exceptional event experiences.
Assist with event follow-up, communications, and stewardship.
Department Operations and Collaboration
Support SOAP leadership with scheduling, meeting preparation, reporting, and project management.
Collaborate with colleagues across departments to align messaging, share stories, and enhance outreach efforts.
Contribute to a positive, solutions-oriented, and mission-focused team culture.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
3–5 years of experience in development, marketing, or communications, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with grants management (reporting calendars, deliverables, outcomes/metrics).
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT or other CRM management systems preferred.
Familiarity with design tools, email marketing platforms, and social media management systems a plus.
Experience supporting fundraising events and campaigns.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Available on an occasional basis for evening and weekend events, in-person and virtual.

Base pay range $60,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr
