GLSS has an immediate opening for an Aircraft Mechanic I to support ongoing efforts at Little Rock, AR.
Military experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures, such as wings, fuselage, functional components including rigging, surface controls, plumbing, and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brakes, welding equipment, rivet guns, and drills.
Read and interpret manufacturers' and airlines maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
Replace or repair worn or damaged components such as carburetors, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, engine-mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves, using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
Remove engines from aircraft using a hoist or forklift truck, disassemble and inspect parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repair or replace defective engine parts.
Reassemble and install engines in aircraft.
Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories, and perform preflight, thru‑flight, and post‑flight maintenance inspections.
Perform miscellaneous duties such as flushing the crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.
Supervise jacking and towing of aircraft.
Enter maintenance records and descriptions of work performed.
Verify satisfactorily service engines and airframe components at the line station.
Make repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition.
Specialize in the repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies, and specialize in engine repair.
Qualifications
FAA license may be required.
Specialization may be required in sheet metal, electric work, avionics, or other aircraft systems‑related disciplines.
A&P License or a Military Service School Certificate of Training in Aviation Maintenance desirable.
High School diploma or equivalent.
