Esme Robotics is driving the next generation of automotive robotics and manufacturing automation. We’re seeking an experienced Robot Commissioning Engineer to lead the development, debugging, and optimization of robotic applications for large‑scale automotive programs.

You’ll work hand‑on with leading robot platforms (ABB, Fanuc, KUKA) in real production environments—supporting Body‑in‑White, Powertrain, and EV assembly systems for major OEMs including Tesla, GM, and other automotive manufacturers.

Responsibilities

Commission, debug, and optimize robot applications for automotive manufacturing lines.

Support system installation, power‑up, and acceptance testing at customer sites.

Integrate robots with tooling, PLCs, safety devices, and vision systems.

Load and validateOLP (Offline Programming)data, verify I/O signals, and tune cycle times for performance and reliability.

Troubleshoot robot paths, safety circuits, and communication interfaces.

Collaborate with PLC, tooling, and process teams to ensure synchronization between robot and line operations.

Document configuration changes, backup robot programs, and support customer handover and training.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree inMechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering(or related field).

3+ years of hands‑on experiencein robot commissioning, programming, or debugging inautomotive production environments.

Proficiency with ABB, Fanuc, KUKA, or Yaskawa robot systems.

Familiarity withOEM technical standards(Tesla, GM, Ford, Stellantis, or similar).

Understanding ofrobot–PLC integration, fieldbus networks (PROFINET, Ethernet/IP), and industrial safety systems.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and teamwork skills.

Ability to travel and work on‑site at customer facilities as required.

Professional proficiency in English;Mandarin Chinese a plus.

Type: Contract (independent contractor or fixed‑term)

Work Authorization: Must have valid U.S. work authorization. OPT candidates welcome.
