SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for implementing manufacturing processes that result in high-quality products. You will work directly with our internal team and external manufacturers to ensure our products are produced with the utmost efficiency and quality. You will be constantly challenged by a rapidly growing and evolving company to bring innovative and modern manufacturing techniques to an industry ripe with opportunity. You will be responsible for all manufacturing activities, processes, and projects within one of our manufacturing facilities. You will lead and support the ongoing work to create standard work. You will audit these documents to determine compliance and elevate issues as necessary. You will perform risk assessments to determine what improvements can keep the facility running smoothly and efficiently. You will review safety and quality standards to ensure compliance. You will conduct extensive work in calculating manufacturing costs by gathering data on materials, labor, and overhead required to manufacture a product per customer specifications. You will travel for support and implementation of different standardization projects across our multiple facilities. You will work as a lead project engineer utilizing project management techniques to drive projects through completion under the guidance of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment supporting overall company goals and objectives. Prepare plant layout drawings utilizing AutoCAD and lead change implementation efforts. Monitor plant floor processes to identify production flow issues and propose solutions. Design carts, tables, workstations, jigs, and fixtures utilizing 3D modeling software (Solidworks, Onshape, Sketchup, etc.). Work closely with the maintenance team for layout changes, equipment installation and training, and equipment optimization. Provide engineering support for equipment research and development, ROI analysis, and capital expenditure requirements. Collaborate with management and employees to leverage experience and knowledge to drive process improvements. Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives in support of business objectives. Develop defect analyses from both customer and installation team feedback; review, categorize, and investigate manufacturing defects to identify root causes. Develop and maintain standard work instructions. Drive continuous improvement. Conduct audits to ensure that implemented process improvements are successful, implemented, and sustained. Design / specify new equipment and processes and oversee installation. Investigate new manufacturing technologies to improve methods, equipment, and processes. Conduct time studies, write SOPs, capacity analysis, and other engineering studies to support manufacturing. Coordinate process changes with MRP and internal departments (purchasing, inventory, safety, quality, and production). Lead and drive 5S initiatives, helping with the sustainment and mindset across the facility. Partner with manufacturing to develop lean principles and implement solutions for product assembly. Develop and implement production efficiency metrics (Machine utilization, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, etc.) in partnership with the production team. Perform other related duties as assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering-related field. Minimum of three years of manufacturing experience. Ability to travel 33% of the time (Domestic: East/West Coast and Midwest). Demonstrated experience in project management. Experience driving process improvement initiatives. Comfortable working on the manufacturing floor hand‑in‑hand with teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word. Proficient in data analysis and reporting. Familiar with Six‑Sigma, SPC, and/or Lean methodologies (certification in either is a plus). Self‑motivated; can identify and drive improvements independently. Experience working with fabrics and related materials is preferred. Experience with PLC programming and automation is preferred. Demonstrated experience in automated work environments is required.
