Position Overview We are seeking an experienced
Instrumentation & Control Valve Engineer
to support capital and maintenance projects within an industrial or petrochemical environment. This role will focus on the
selection, specification, and application of control valves and instrumentation
used throughout process units and utility systems.
The ideal candidate will have a background in
control valve sizing and selection , instrumentation engineering, and project support—from design through commissioning. This position does
not require DCS or automation configuration experience
but instead emphasizes
valve and field instrumentation expertise .
Key Responsibilities
Provide engineering support for
control valves, relief valves, and field instrumentation
across capital, turnaround, and reliability projects.
Develop and review
instrument datasheets, valve sizing calculations, and specification documents
in accordance with project and industry standards.
Interface with process, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to ensure proper integration of instrumentation and valve systems.
Review and approve vendor drawings, control valve specifications, IOM manuals, and test documentation.
Support
procurement and vendor selection
for instrumentation and valves, ensuring cost‑effective and technically sound solutions.
Participate in
P&ID reviews, design reviews, and MOC processes
to ensure accurate representation of field devices.
Provide
technical field support during installation, loop checks, calibration, and commissioning
phases.
Ensure all deliverables meet applicable
ISA, API, and ASME standards
as well as site safety and reliability requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
in Mechanical, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 5 years of experience
in industrial or petrochemical environments focusing on instrumentation and control valves.
Hands‑on knowledge of
control valve sizing and selection , valve characteristics, materials, and actuator configurations.
Experience with
instrumentation specification, calibration, and field integration
for flow, pressure, level, and temperature instruments.
Strong understanding of
ISA and API standards
(ISA S75, API 598, API 6A/6D, etc.).
Proven ability to read and interpret
P&IDs, loop diagrams, and instrument index databases .
Excellent communication and coordination skills with project, maintenance, and operations teams.
