Kamehameha Schools . Aloha mai! Mahalo for your interest in Kamehameha Schools. This position supports our Ho’omāka’ika’i summer program, which hosts five week‑long overnight sessions for rising 6th graders to connect with and explore Hawaiian culture. Job Summary

Serves as the operational coordinator for the program, providing educational leadership and guidance on instructional methods. Coordinates program evaluation, offers continuous feedback on program components, and assists in evaluating staff performance. Essential Responsibilities

Instruction & Learning Environment : Operate curriculum and maintain a welcoming, inclusive environment that encourages full participation. Operations : Oversee check‑ins/check‑outs, program evaluation, staff orientation, and equipment accounting. Act as the primary contact for parents and staff regarding day‑to‑day activities. Staff : Coach, counsel, and evaluate staff, ensuring compliance with KS policies. Miscellaneous : Resolve student or staff situations with sound judgment and represent KS professionally. Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a directly related field. Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability. Conflict‑resolution skills with staff, students, and parents. Demonstrated knowledge of Hawaiian culture and history specific to the program island. Good human‑relations and communication skills. Experience in group dynamics, organizational techniques, and team building. Physical capability to chaperone and supervise students during hikes and field trips. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Hawaiian Studies, or related field. Driver’s license. Certification in first aid and water safety. Prior experience with student boarding programs. Knowledge of KS operations and programs. Physical Requirements

Frequently sit, perform desk‑based computer tasks, and grasp light/fine objects. Occasionally stand/walk, write by hand, and lift/carry objects up to 10 pounds. Rarely twist, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, or reach above shoulder height. Working Conditions

Travel to various locations, including neighboring islands. Work may occur in non‑standard workplaces. Typically Monday‑Friday, with evening and weekend hours often required. Disclaimer and Reasonable Accommodation
